Autumn Dialogue — Vancouver Concert
The First Early-Autumn Performance by Stringless Guqin House
Voice of Autumn in the Ear | Poetry of Music in the Heart
On August 23, 2025, early autumn arrived quietly in Vancouver, bringing a subtle coolness to the air. At the Surrey Arts Centre, Autumn Dialogue unfolded—an evening where poetry met melody.
Across generations and cultures, the audience gathered to listen: to the voice of the season, to strings speaking what words cannot.
The Performance

Guqin master Diana Tang led the audience into the serene and timeless realm of classical guqin music with two solo pieces: The Sage’s Delight (神人暢) and Dialogue Between the Fisherman and the Woodcutter (漁樵問答).
Her performance was a moment of refined grace and quiet beauty, providing an exquisite highlight of the evening.

Verse of Reflection
撫琴樹影奏初秋
為留古意出凡塵
何事不見踏月來
有約未遇再輪迴
Beneath the trees I touch the strings; autumn’s first song sighs.
To keep the old grace, I rise beyond the dust of men.
Why comes no footfall under moonlit skies?
Perhaps our vow awaits another lifetime’s dawn.
